Je ne vais pas être tendre avec Naxos (fantastique label si riche de tant de trésors), ces ré-ochestrations pour orchestre hybride (mi-symphonique, mi-jazz) n’apportent rien. Elles accompagneraient à merveille la lecture de romans-photos, mais baignent dans une certaine platitude. Sweet Georgia Brown est venu se perdre, comme un cheveu dans la soupe, au milieu des œuvres ducales (dommage, c’est un des bons moments du disque) . Autant se payer un vrai Best of par Ellington lui-même si vous voulez découvrir sa musique.
