Deux voix qui sonnent comme une section de big-band pendant que la troisième laisse déferler son flot de paroles calquées sur des improvisations instrumentales. Ce disque est d'un bout à l'autre de la haute voltige vocale, le chant acquiert ses lettres de noblesse avec un tel trio ! Mention spéciale pour Rocks in my bed avec ses douces dissonances et Midnight indigo dont les timbres ne sont pas sans rappeler les alliages sonores du maître avec la clarinette basse et le trombone dans Mood indigo. Trois reprises de thèmes de la toute récente B. O. de Anatomy of a murder.
